Dr Rizwan Khan is an early career biomedical researcher with a diverse research background in neuroimmunology, genomics, and cell biology. His research interests span infectious diseases, NDDs, and cancer, with a strong focus on developing targeted therapeutic strategies. Dr Rizwan completed his PhD at the Western Sydney University, where he investigated the disturbances in adaptive immune system of AD cohorts using cutting edge technologies like NGS to profile the B-cell and T-cell receptor and LC-MS/MS to conduct proteomic analysis with the aim of contributing toward the development of an early diagnostic tool for AD.
Currently a postdoctoral research fellow at The Kirby Institute, UNSW, Dr Rizwan’s work centres on translational research in infectious diseases such as COVID, as well as cancer immunology. He is actively involved in establishing an immunopeptidomics pipeline to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets for virally driven cancers, contributing to global efforts to combat cancer and infectious diseases through cutting-edge biomedical innovation.
